Fewer than 20 percent of AFP's 243 chapters earn the Ten Star Gold Chapter recognition, making AFPSBV one of the association's leading chapters around the world.

  • 2024 AFP Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter Board Nominations

    The AFP Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we are now receiving nominations for Chapter Directors and other leadership roles for 2024.

     

    This is a very exciting time for our Chapter, and we are looking for leaders who will help guide and shape our work in the years ahead. You are invited to nominate a candidate and encouraged to nominate yourself by using the link below, along with a list of expectations of serving on the chapter board.

Thank you very much for considering building a solid leadership group for the AFP Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties chapter. We look forward to hearing from you—and we hope you will use this opportunity to make your voice heard.

     

    Length of term:

    • Directors shall serve one year terms, with the maximum of eight terms for a total of eight (8) years of maximum service.

     

    Meetings and time commitment:

    • The board of directors meets every month; the Executive Committee meets at the discretion of the President.
    • Committees of the board meet an average of four times per year, pending their respective work agenda.

     

    Expectations of board members:

    • Attend and participate in board meetings on a regular basis, and chapter programs as able.
    • Participate on a standing committee of the board, and serve on ad-hoc committees as necessary.
    • Be alert to community concerns that can be addressed by AFP's mission, objectives, and programs.
    • Help communicate and promote AFP's mission and programs to the community.
    • Become familiar with AFP's finances, budget, and financial/resource needs.
    • Understand the policies and procedures of AFP.
    • Financially support AFP in a manner commensurate with one's ability.
